Speech of the Preparatory Meeting of Hainan Agarwood  Industry Federation

Dear experts, colleagues and friends:

    Hello everyone! It is a great honor to have the opportunity to gather with you all, full of hope to discuss and look forward to the bright future of Hainan agarwood business. All of you here are the leaders and excellent representatives of Hainan and even the national agarwood business, and have made positive efforts and significant contributions to promote the healthy development of China's agarwood business. As a newcomer to the agarwood business, please allow me to express my deep respect to all teachers and seniors, and my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for attending today's preparatory meeting in the midst of your busy schedules!

   At present, there are 14,000 enterprises engaged in the cultivation, processing and sales of agarwood in China. Hainan province has 1,729 agarwood-related enterprises, ranking second in the country in terms of number, second only to Guangdong Province. However, the global market size of the agarwood industry has exceeded one trillion yuan, domestic also reached one hundred billion yuan, while the scale of Hainan agarwood industry is only 1 billion yuan. Why is the number of good quality Hainan agarwood enterprises, but the scale of the industry is relatively small? Why do the prices of agarwood products vary, and it is difficult to judge the price and quality fairly? Why Hainan agarwood industry dispersion phenomenon is particularly prominent?

   To promote the development of Hainan's advantageous characteristics of the agarwood industry, Hainan Province issued the "Hainan Province Agarwood Industry Development Plan" back in 2018. The then governor of the provincial party committee secretary Shen Xiaoming April 14, 2020 organized a "work conference to promote the development of the agarwood industry". Proposed agarwood as the fourth tree in Hainan, as a key industry development, Hainan agarwood industry development began to enter the fast lane.

    Hainan agarwood industry to be bigger and stronger, with the help of modern seeding and breeding technology, lending Hainan agarwood overall image enhancement, to create high-end agarwood brand, and lending industrial capital and financial capital is the general trend.

   In order to further integrate resources, unite people from all walks of life, together to make new contributions to the healthy development of Hainan's agarwood industry, the second half of last year, we began preparations for the establishment of the Hainan Agarwood Industry Federation. Association by "tropical biological technology research institute  Chinese academy of tropical agriculture, Hainan Great View agarwood industry development co., LTD., Hainan Xiangguan agarwood co., LTD., Hainan NaGuFang agarwood  industry technology co., LTD., Hainan SenRun agarwood biological technology co., LTD., Hainan Nada agricultural development co., LTD., Hainan Jiurun agarwood technology co., LTD., Hainan Xie Hanhui agarwood nursery technology Co., LTD. "was jointly initiated by eight companies, the business unit in charge of the Hainan Forestry Bureau agreed to fulfill the relevant procedures and formalities under the guidance of the Civil Affairs Department of Hainan Province, the registration and management authority. At present, the preparation of the preliminary work has been basically completed, starting to enter a new phase, after holding a general meeting of members, the Hainan Agarwood Industry Federation will be officially established. 

   During the preparation period, we received great attention from the government, and Vice Governor Wang Lu, who was in charge of the revitalization of aloes industry, gave many instructions. We have also received careful guidance from the Provincial Forestry Bureau, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and the Provincial Department of Science and Technology as well as strong support from people from all walks of life. Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Biotechnology, Dai Hao Fu, deputy director of personal efforts, coordination, for the Federation of the preparatory work made an irreplaceable contribution, Hainan Xiangdu agarwood industry Holdings Group, President Zhou Jianhui for the Federation strongly recommended the agarwood industry experts, association leaders, business elite, tireless efforts.

    I propose that we give them a round of applause to express our heartfelt thanks for their efforts and contributions!

   The original intention of initiating the establishment of the Hainan Agarwood Industry Association，is to put Hainan agarwood industry related scientific research institutions, backbone enterprises, industry associations and relevant experts, rural cooperatives, individual households and other forces cohesive integration together. To promote the complementary resources of the incense industry in Hainan Province, to build the brand of Hainan agarwood, to enhance the competitive advantage of the industry and contribute our strength to the construction of Hainan's grand blueprint of "rural revitalization and green development".

   In the agarwood industry, Hainan has irreplaceable regional advantages and late-developed policy advantages, the business environment is also improving.

   I believe in the provincial government's strong support, under the careful guidance of domestic and foreign research institutions, we united struggle, will be able to create a good "Hainan agarwood" this beautiful business card.

   As a participant and struggler in the cause of agarwood in Hainan, and as the representative of the initiator of the Federation of Agarwood Industry in Hainan Province, I am the service officer and liaison officer of the Federation, and I will try my best to learn from all of you and work hand in hand with you to create a good Federation. For the healthy and rapid development of the cause of Hainan agarwood, for the heritage of Chinese traditional culture and Chinese medicine to make our due contribution!
